CosignRecovery — Patient Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms of Use and Privacy Policy ("Terms") govern your use of the CosignRecovery mobile and web application (the "Service") as a patient. By creating an account, scrolling through these Terms, and checking the agreement box, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

CosignRecovery is a supportive companion application for individuals in recovery from eating disorders. The Service lets you log meals (with or without photos), record how you felt and how much you completed, and share those logs with a care provider you invite to connect. The Service is designed to support, not replace, the clinical care you receive from licensed professionals.

3. Not a Substitute for Professional Treatment

The Service is not a medical device, a clinical treatment, therapy, medical advice, or a crisis service. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and it does not monitor your health for emergencies. If you are in crisis or at immediate medical risk, contact your care team, a crisis line, or emergency services. You acknowledge that the Service is not a substitute for professional eating disorder treatment or therapy, and you waive any right to pursue legal action against CosignRecovery arising from your use of the Service.

4. Eligibility and Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to agree in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it if it changes.

5. Health Information You Provide

You may choose to log meal details, photographs, moods, completion amounts, and notes. This is sensitive health information. You provide it voluntarily, and you are never required to log anything. You can delete individual meal logs or your entire account data at any time from Settings.

6. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to display your logs back to you, to share them with providers you connect with, to send optional meal reminders you turn on, and to operate, secure, and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal or health information.

7. Sharing With Your Care Provider

Your meal data is private to you until you invite a provider and they accept the connection. When you request a connection, you consent to share your meal logs with that provider. You can revoke a connection at any time, which stops new sharing. Providers can only view meals shared through an active connection and cannot edit or delete your logs.

8. Data Storage and Security

Meal photos are stored in private storage and served through time-limited, signed links that only you and your connected providers can open. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your logs while your account is active. You can delete individual logs or request full deletion of your data from Settings. Some records may be kept in backups for a limited time before permanent removal.

10. Reminders and Notifications

Optional meal reminders are off by default. If you turn them on, you control the times and can turn them off at any time. We do not use reminders to monitor you for safety.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on hosting, storage, and notification providers that process data on our behalf. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CosignRecovery is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from your reliance on the Service instead of professional care.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be presented for your review and agreement before they take effect for your account.

14. Contact

For questions about these Terms or your data, contact CosignRecovery support through the app.

Please scroll through the full terms to enable the agreement.

CosignRecovery is not a replacement for medical care or mental health treatment. If you are in crisis, contact a licensed professional or call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
